| Business Bay |
| Modeled after the business districts in New York and Tokyo, Business Bay is a 64 million square foot commercial and business playground for the seriously wealthy. It's enormous, glitzy and nowhere near finished. |

When Business Bay launched in 2004, some investors were puzzled: What bay? They asked. The development’s location is far from the Dubai Creek and the shores of the Arabian Sea, so naturally they assumed the developer would create a manmade pit filled with stagnant that’ll stink up the prestigious business district. But they were wrong. This week, the Road and Transport Authority in Dubai awarded the AED758 million contract to dredge the Dubai Creek to Korean group Sungwon Corporation. The dredging will be completed in 2010. So in addition to having apartments and offices in a planned district of over 220 glitzy towers, investors who bought units in Business Bay will get what they were promised: a actual (albeit manmade) bay.
