 Dubai has seen several cases of fraud in the recent past; a number of senior executives from major property developers such as Nakheel, Deyaar, Sama Dubai and Mizin were detained last year for high-profile fraud cases.
According to officials, credit and debit card fraud cases also went up from 32 registered cases in 2007 to 65 cases in 2008.
