A report aired on government-backed Press TV disputes claims that 26-year-old Neda Agha-Soltan was shot by a member of Iran’s Basij, a paramilitary arm that answers only to the nation’s supreme leader.
Two men claimed that they did not see security forces where Neda was killed, reports CNN. One of the men - who was unidentified - told the station “I didn’t see who shot who. The whole scene looked suspicious to me.”
Iran’s opposition forces claim that Neda was shot by a plain-clothed security officer on June 20. Her death was caught on video and posted online.
