A total of 26 women graduated from Jeddah-based Dar Al Hekma Women’s College on Tuesday, having completed a 10-day course on how to sell underwear, reports Arabian Business, citing a report by Saudi newspaper Al Watan.
Let’s be honest, there isn’t anything about this course that isn’t funny; it’s only 10 days long, only 26 women attended, and all they did was learn how to sell underwear.
Are the skills they gained specifically for underwear, or can they be transferred to something else? In other words, does this course qualify the 26 women to sell anything else, like shoes?
And if people needed to be trained on how to sell underwear, does this mean the bored shopkeepers at La Senza are bad underwear sellers? Are there techniques used specifically in Saudi Arabia, or are they universal?

The emirate is happy that despite being denied the chance to host the America Cup, it has at least become famous.

hilarious…
can’t believe that 26 women actually took the course!
lol
Maybe they should have taken the short course - a corset?
Does this mean that the course on selling thongs is only 5 days long? ;p
It’s called specialist selling and it is simply targeted marketing. The undergarment market is huge, lucrative and when sold well, can add significant profits to a company’s bottom line. Shame on you for not promoting the positive side for these women to be involved in a sector where they can thrive.
CANDY @ shame on you too, for not appreciating the satire in the Kipp’s report…I agree the report neglects to mention the +ve side of the coin, but hey Lets not get carried , these are 21st century SAUDIA chics !!!
Peace to all.
A lot of staff of all the malls of Dubai should attend much more basic courses then that! Often service, product knowledge and sales skills are appalling!
Selling women’s underwear is a specialist area. Properly fitting women for bras needs to be taught. The right fit changes your appearance and can remove pain and discomfort. There are many sales women in Dubai who need to be taught this service!
