Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways and Gulf Air claim the number of one-way tickets issued from the region has not increased in recent weeks, reports Arabian Business. The Dubai-based business website called the airlines to investigate claims that expatriates are leaving the GCC in droves this summer.
“We do not provide a detailed breakdown on our ticket sales, but we can confirm that the number of one-way tickets being booked out of the region is no different than in previous years - accounting for less than 1 percent of total bookings,” a spokesperson for Dubai-based Emirates told Arabian Business.
Spokespeople for Etihad and Gulf Air issued similar statements.
