Bombing the moon -

NASA is crossing the last frontier to find water on the moon. And yes, you can watch if you have a fancy telescope.

NASA is planning a dramatic $79 million collision mission very soon. The LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observing and Sensing Satellite) mission will send a missile to the moon on Friday, which will travel at twice the speed of a bullet and blast a hole near the moon’s south pole, on a crater called Cabeus, reports The Huffington Post.

The violence is being inflicted on the moon to find water, as, according to NASA, the crater could contain billions of tons of trapped ice.  Scientists hope that finding natural resources like water on the moon will help increase lunar explorations.

Meanwhile, the impact of the rocket is expected to be so powerful that Earthlings with telescopes 10-to-12 inches and larger can witness the carnage directly. The event will also be forecast live on NASA TV.

If indeed the mission does find tons of water on the moon, it will probably open several new possibilities; tourism, investments, business and so on. Do you think NASA’s operation will be successful?

quote up Since when does NASA have missiles? And, whose bright idea was it to bomb the freakin' moon? This country is so arrogant, I can't believe it. They might tell us they're looking for water, but I gotta believe there's something else going on here. quote up

quote up Since when the Moon belongs to USA? Now they decide to bomb the peaceful moon "looking for water" (as they just said) instead of use that money to protect the water in the Earth, which will be more logical and useful (for instance, Africa needs urgently help in issues related to water supply). We are surrounded by millions of crazy people, and most of them are driven this world to the end. quote up
