Etisalat, one of two telecommunication companies in the UAE, announced on Sunday that its internet subscriber numbers in the Emirates hit 1.27 million in the year ending September 30, a 10 percent increase since the start of 2009.
The telecom provider also announced that its mobile phone subscribers rose by 5 percent to 7.44 million, while fixed line users hit 1.31 million during the same period.
Finally, Etisalat posted a third-quarter profit of AED2.25 billion, a 5 percent quarter-on-quarter increase.
