Almost 50 percent of employers in the UAE are planning to hire people in the next three months, according to the latest Jobs Index study conducted by Bayt.com and YouGov Siraj. While a quarter of the respondents said that they would definitely be hiring, 23 percent said they would “probably” be hiring. Only 19 percent said that they would not be appointing new staff in the next quarter.
“As many regional companies struggled to stop spiraling costs during the recession, many people caught in the cross-fire lost their jobs,” Joanna Longworth, chief marketing officer of YouGov Siraj said in the press release. “It follows now, as business picks up, that companies find themselves short-staffed and in need to recruit. This is another indication that the economic situation is improving,” she added.
