Dubai-based financial lenders Amlak Finance and Tamweel will see a merger by January 2010, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the UAE’s economy minister said on Tuesday, reports Zawya Dow Jones. “We are moving very forward” with the merger, he said.”By January 2010 we’ll start the process of implementing the solutions we have.”
Both the lenders suspended operations in November 2008 to begin the merger process, but it has been postponed due to unexplained delays.
