The body, called the National Council of Tourism and Antiquities, is expected to co-ordinate with the tourism authorities of each emirate, and will also develop a tourism statistics database for the country. The government is currently finalizing details before formally announcing its launch, government officials told the paper.

While Dubai has made a name for itself in the world, and Abu Dhabi too is now catching up, do you think the UAE’s branding as a country has been efficient? 1. Is there a UAE branding? No.

The branding is done either as Dubai or as Abu Dhabi. They present themselves as separate entity and you never see a whole UAE branding.

As for the northern states, they all fall under the umbrella of Dubai, and considered only as a gateway from Dubai big city life, especially Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.

And we shouldn’t forget Fujairah, it established a good position in beach resorts.
