9,518 vehicles were caught speeding during the first five days of November, after the speed limit cushion was reduced from 20km/h to 10km/h, Brigadier Mohammed Saif Al Zafin told UAE daily Emarat Alyoum.
The cushion was reduced on November 1, and only applies to trucks, buses and taxis. Dubai Police expect traffic accidents to reduce by 10 percent as a result of the measure.
