Dubai, Abu Dhabi unity skeptics should “shut up”

Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid al-Maktoum has said that the whole of the UAE will always continue working as one entity, and warned critics to stop questioning its unity.

“There is no Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we are one,” Sheikh Mohammed said at an investment conference in Dubai. “Who doesn’t understand this should do their homework before they start talking. We will be there for each other when we need it,” he said.

“And I want to tell those people who nag about Dubai and Abu Dhabi to shut up,” he added.

He also said that he was confident that Dubai will bounce back from the global economic crisis, and that its $20 billion bond program would generate adequate interest from investors. “The second tranche of the bond program will receive subscribers and will be used to settle Dubai’s obligations in future,” he said.
