Pakistan: Explosion outside bank kills at least 20

A large explosion outside a bank in Rawalpindi, close to Pakistan’s capital, has killed at least 20 and injured tens of people, reports The Associated Press. The blast is the latest in a series of militant attacks since the army’s offensive against them began in October.

“I was nearby and rushed toward the parking area,” Zahid Dara a witness, told Dunya television. “There were many people lying on the ground with bleeding wounds, and a motorcycle was on fire with one man under it.”

“The bodies were lying all over,” Ali Babar, a rescue official who rushed to the scene told the AP. “This is a terrible thing. It is happening again and again.”
