Qatar is planning to propose that the Gulf states create a regional development bank during the GCC rulers summit in Kuwait in December, Abdulrahman al-Attiyah, secretary-general of the GCC told Al Arabiya TV. He said the aim was “establishing a development bank for the GCC, similar to the European development bank, which will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing the GCC joint work.”

He said the GCC countries will also try to work towards concluding the monetary union agreement during the summit.
