Qatar is set to sign a contract with German rail operator Deutsche Bahn to build railways in Qatar and Bahrain, a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn told AFP.”A contract will be signed on Sunday between Deutsche Bahn and Qatar,” he said, adding that the deal would be worth “billions of euros.”

German newspaper Handelsblatt had earlier reported that the deal would be valued at 16.7 billion euros ($24.8 billion), and would include a rail network in Doha and Bahrain.
