The Saudi health minister, Abdullah al-Rabeeah, said that five people have died because of swine flu during the Haj pilgrimage this year, reports The Associated Press. He said that authorities have recorded 73 cases of the flu at the pilgrimage, adding that only 10 percent of the around three million pilgrims were vaccinated against the flu.

Saudi officials have said that they have taken several precautionary measures to prevent an outbreak of swine flu during the Haj.
