The UAE topped the list of arms buyers from the US, spending $7.9 billion in 2009, reports Reuters. Saudi Arabia, which spent $3.3 billion, came third on the list, according to the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
Arm sales in the US increased from $36.4 billion in sales agreements in 2008 and $23.3 billion in 2007, the agency said.

Even though the some emarati people are living in rent and in need of better housing and wait for over 10 years to get there turn, the country seems to have al lack of trust and confedence in its neghibours to spend that much on deffense, still i think this is a faster way to spend that 7.9 billion.
