A consortium from South Korea has won an alleged $20 billion contract to construct a number of nuclear plants in the UAE, reports Reuters, citing industry sources.
The consortium, which includes Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), Hyundai Engineering and Construction, Samsung C&T Corp and Doosan Heavy Industries, will build the first nuclear reactors in the Gulf region.
South Korea beat consortiums from France, the US and Japan.
