The number of passengers who have used the Dubai Metro has reached 7.5 million in the system’s first four months of operation, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Sunday.
The most popular stop is the Mall of the Emirates Station with 1,265,646 passengers.
“What we see today is an evidence of the urban mutation witnessed by the city of Dubai in various fields, the latest of which is the Dubai Metro,” said Ramadan Abdullah, director of Rail Operation Department at Rail Agency.
The Dubai Metro’s Red Line is expected to be completed in February 2010, when the RTA will launch the remaining 18 stations.
