Emirati spends $6.45 million on three camels

A UAE national, Hamdan bin Ghanem, spent AED24 million ($6.47 million) on buying three camels in an auction at the Al Dhafra Festival in Abu Dhabi, reports AFP. While one of them had a price tag of $2.72 million, another cost $2.4 million and the third was priced at $1.35 million.

The auction was held on Tuesday and was attracted some of the biggest camel owners in the Gulf, including princes and tribal dignitaries, said the report.  The festival also includes a camel beauty pageant, and competitions for the best camel meat and camel milk dishes.

  4. @ Mohammad : Those who live wisely, are indeed wise !!! Forefathers (and mothers too!) foretold of the abundant riches gone to waste in the land of chiefs/sheiks…

    Those who spend unwisely, are dooming their future generations of the choice (not that ‘ they’ would have made the wiser of the choices!!!) of spending on life’s bare necessities (incld camels) and luxuries.

    Finally, long live the Hens : FOR THE CHICKEN WILL ONE DAY COME HOME TO ROOST ( For guidance look at the present Taliban in Pak) !!!
