Dark clouds ahead, at least that’s what half of the world thinks the rest of the year will look like as they expect more acts of terrorism.

- 39 percent recent commercial air travellers believe security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights are too strict and thorough, 61 percent think not.
- Travellers from Turkey (69 percent), China (67 percent) and Argentina (59 percent) are most likely to say that the security procedures are “too strict and thorough” compared with Germany (18 percent), Indonesia (19 percent) and South Africa (20 percent) who are least likely to believe this.
- Despite this, only 19 percent of recent commercial air travellers think security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights need to be less strict, 32 percent say security procedures should be stricter whereas half (49 percent) say they’re just fine the way they are. Travellers most likely to say security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights are “just fine as they are” are from Argentina (72 percent), South Africa (63 percent), Australia (61 percent), Canada (50 percent) and France (57 percent).
- Travellers from Spain (32 percent), Saudi Arabia (29 percent), the United States (27 percent), Russia (26 percent) and Canada (25 percent) are most likely to say security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights need to be “less strict.” Travellers from Indonesia (58 percent) Brazil (57 percent), India (48 percent), Italy (45 percent) and Japan (43 percent) are most likely to say security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights need to be “more strict.”
