– Overall, 84 percent of recent air travellers believe security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights are a hassle but necessary, while only 16 percent think it’s a hassle and not really necessary. Travellers most likely to say security procedures are a hassle but necessary are from Argentina (100 percent), Russia (94 percent), Hungary (93 percent), South Africa (93 percent) and Australia (92 percent). Travellers most likely to say security procedures are a hassle and not really necessary are from Saudi Arabia (37 percent), Turkey (34 percent), the United States (24 percent) and Sweden (23 percent).
– A minority (40 percent) of recent air travellers say security procedures at airports for travelling passengers on commercial flights are really not deterring or catching anyone who wants to carry out an act of terrorism/terror threats, while a majority (60 percent) say these procedures are doing a good job of deterring terrorists/terror threats… those most likely to believe security procedures do not really deter terrorists/terror threats are from Germany (72 percent) and Italy, Hungary, and Brazil each at 63 percent, and followed by France (57 percent) and Canada (54 percent) compared with those from Indonesia (83 percent), Saudi Arabia (74 percent), China (72 percent), Argentina (70 percent) and India (69 percent) are most likely to say the procedures do a good job of deterring terrorists/terror threats.
