HE Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi is the Minister for foreign Trade and was previously Minister of Economic and Planning of the UAE. The niece of HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qasimi is the first woman to hold a ministerial post in the UAE.
Lubna graduated from California State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and an Executive MBA from the American University of Sharjah. She also received an honorary doctorate of science from California State U.
Sheikha Lubna returned to the UAE to work as a programmer for software company Datamation in 1981. She then became the Dubai branch manager for the General Information Authority.
