There is a roaring business in smuggling exotic pets – from lions and tigers, pythons to rare birds. But the UAE authorities are clamping down on the smugglers, and claim to be winning the fight against this multi-billion dollar illegal trade.
It’s a shame the same can’t be said of Lebanon, which as Kipp reported recently, has very lax penalties against smugglers. And people caught mistreating animals face fines of just $7.
