Get high and get hungry

Afraid of heights? Not a fan of fine dining? Scared of elevators? Poor? Well, this restaurant is pretty much not for you, thinks Kipp

The world’s highest restaurant has just opened in Dubai. Located in the Burj Khalifa, it’s 122 floors above the ground – or 442 metres. The elevator ride is 57 seconds, and reportedly makes your ears pop.

So what will you find up there? According to the designer of the restaurant, you’ll find elegance and luxury in an environment designed to make you feel like you’re in a cave – so you feel safe almost half a kilometre from the ground.

It may seem like a lingering throw back to the pre-crisis days, but this ultra fancy dining experience is very real, and very current. And it’s also very expensive – with starters from $50, and main courses from $90, you’ll wish it was pre-crisis when the bill comes. Check out this short news report from ITN to see what it’s like.
