You know how it is, when you give someone a really rubbish present, and they give you something great? That sickening feeling that you’ve come across as cheap?

That’s how Kipp figures the Queen is feeling following her visit to Oman. Elizabeth was gifted a 21 carat gold vase by the Sultan of Oman, as well as a Faberge-style egg he’d had made. In return she gave him a book about clocks. Ouch.

Alright, so it was a 1766 first edition, but still.

    the thought that counts – on both sides – I think that he also liked his gift from them judging by the look on his face
