The state Iraqi Grain Board issued a tender on Thursday to purchase at least 100,000 tonnes of wheat from any origin, European traders said.
Offers are due by Dec. 5 and must be valid until Dec. 12, traders said. The board had indicated on Wednesday that a new tender was imminent.
Shipment dates were not given.
Amounts requested in grain tenders in Iraq, one of the world’s leading importers of wheat and rice, are nominal and the government often buys more than originally requested.
