People magazine named her among Jackson’s “Unlikely Friends and Odd Couplings.” Renowned screen and theater actress, Elizabeth Taylor, offered Jackson unwavering support during his child molestation trials. The two were often seen together, in attendance at high profile entertainment events, such as the American Music Awards. Of their unlikely friendship, Taylor reportedly told Larry King in a 2006 interview, that “both had horrible childhoods.” In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Jackson credited the actress with dubbing him, “King of Pop.”
