Two enterprising Emiratis have created an app to preserve the Emirati slang with the iPhone application, Thikrayat. Its developers describe it as “a treasure chest of Emirati words used both past and present to help facilitate the cultural exchange between the many nationalities residing within the UAE.” The app translates Emirati words to both English and Arabic.
