New technology & the quicker kitchen

Jumeirah Branded Restaurants is using electronic touchpads to quickly assess customer satisfaction. The Wagamama noodle chain was among the first to allow waiters to beam back customer orders to its kitchen. A trial by SK Telecom and McDonalds in South Korea looks to be taking the technology-meets-dining experience further.

The trail, in Seoul’s Shinchon neighborhood, lets customers place an order by pointing their cell phone at the items they want. Actually, says trend-spotting site, Springwise, it’s not quite that simple
