In 2007, The Prince of Wales visited Abu Dhabi Organics, reportedly only organic farm in the UAE. The prince has been an advocate for organic farming; he visited the farm in order to give his support.
Ilke Toklu, Abu Dhabi Organics’ spokeswoman, hosted Prince Charles and said, “Our aim is to turn Abu Dhabi into a showpiece for organic farming and to prove that it is possible to turn desert land into luscious, green fields, and the approval of dignitaries such as the Prince of Wales brings us closer to that important goal.”
Previously, Ilke Toklu served as general manager of Tejoori, the world’s first independent, Sharia-compliant investment corporation to list on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange.
