As part of her ongoing efforts towards universal education, Queen Rania last year headed to Washington DC’s LEAP Academy, to see first-hand what the urban school reform program in the US is accomplishing. The innovative school concept is based on the ‘Knowledge is Power Program’ that targets underserved children from any economic or cultural background.
During her trip to the nation’s capital, Queen Rania met with First Lady of the US, Michele Obama. In addition to their shared passion for educational issues, the two ladies are noted for the sense of style they each exhibit. Their meeting was covered extensively in the press, with much attention to their glamorous wardrobe choices.
