Saudi employers ‘pushed nails’ into Sri Lankan maid

A Sri Lankan woman working as a maid in Saudi Arabia has been reportedly tortured by her employers who pushed twenty-four nails and needles into her hands, legs and forehead, when she complained about her hard workload.

Nearly 2 million Sri Lankans traveled overseas last year in search of work, and 1.2 million of them were employed in the Middle East – mostly as domestic helpers.
