Speaking of sports, the Dubai leader likes horseracing – a lot. And no doubt his favorite event is the Dubai World Cup, the richest horse race on the planet, and his own creation.
He’s always in attendance, and it was no different in March of this year when Gloria De Campeao from Brazil crossed the line to earn its owner the $10 million dollar prize. Holding the reins was champion jockey Tiago Pereira, who was later congratulated by the UAE’s Prime Minister and presented with his trophy.
Pereira has enjoyed numerous successes in the saddle. Aside from the Meydan victory, he has achieved great things in his home country, including winning 96 races at Brazil’s Cristal Racecourse in his maiden year. He has now won more than 1,750 races worldwide.
