Talk about an unlikely acquaintance: The Emir of Qatar met earlier this year with Aleida Guevara, medical doctor and Marxist daughter of Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter, Che Guevara. Aleida, aged 50, arrived in Doha in April as a member of the Cuban delegation to the Al-Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival which opened under the slogan “Freedom.”
Cuban press reported that the Qatari public and media were, “eager for unknown stories about the revolutionary work of Che.”
