The GCC spends more than $12 billion on fashion in a year and given the booming fashion scene here it isn’t surprising. Kipp takes a look at six up and coming Emirati fashion designers

When we think of Mariam Al Mazro we think of long flowing stylish but conservative dresses; which is probably why her brand is so well received in these parts of the world. She first established her brand Mimi’s Fashion Designs in Sharjah Brides show in February 2007 and since then has exhibited her unique mix of Jalabiya and maxi-dress at various fashion shows in the region. When asked about her ambitions, Mazro says “For me it’s just the start, and with my inspiration and the encouragement from my family and friends, will support me and push me further. There is no end to my inspiration & creativity. Am looking forward for my dream come true and make Mimi’s Fashion Designs an international brand”,”
