The GCC spends more than $12 billion on fashion in a year and given the booming fashion scene here it isn’t surprising. Kipp takes a look at six up and coming Emirati fashion designers

“As for fashion, I’ve always loved it. Growing up, me and my sisters used to love watching our mother get ready for a wedding or a ladies gathering. We would try on her outfits and shoes before she did” gushed a young Reem Beljafla to Gulf New. This young Emirati designer is not only the owner-operator of Ree International, a communication and design agency but also the managing director of creative house Elev8-all at the ripe old age of 24. Not impressed? How’s this? Beljafa was also awarded several titles including the Best Business Woman of the Year and Best Design Business from the Mohammad Bin Rashid Awards for Young Business Leaders.
