The Secretary of State is in the UAE for a quick visit this week, meeting with the country’s big names. Kipp takes a look at the others in Clinton’s circle of influence.

As their husbands spent so much time in the lime light shaking hands and making grand speeches, first ladies Hillary Clinton and Cherie Blair often followed closely behind. But these days the women have stepped out of their husband’s shadows and have been making names for themselves.
Most recently, the two were in the news when they launched a new initiative aimed at getting mobile phones into the hands of women from under developed and developing countries. The scheme, which was launched in the end of 2010, is called mWomen, and has the backing of the trade body for the mobile phone industry GSM.
