Though his world of golfing may seem far removed from de Kock’s world of racing, the two met on many occasions in Dubai. Westwood owns shares of horses Emerald Beauty and Right Approach and as such, often comes down to Dubai to watch them race. As a golfer, Westwood first shot to fame came in 1990 when he won his first amateur event in 1990. He turned pro in 1993, winning the British Youth Championship. We’d love to say, the rest was history, but we are going to hit you with some hard facts instead. In his career, Westwood has won 18 events on the European Tour and has also won tournaments in America, Africa, Asia and Australia. In 2000 he official World Golf Ranking was as high as #4 when he won 7 tournaments worldwide and was consequently ranked first on the European Order of Merit.
