Golden Sword made headlines this morning as de Kock’s secret weapon soon-to-be unleashed in the Dubai World Cup.  Although Golden Sword did perform rather poorly last year at the Dubai Sheema Classic (G1), he won rather easily at Meydan, where he beat Saudi Arabian mare Deem by 2 ¾ lengths over 2,000 metres.  Golden Sword is the five-year-old son of High Chaparral and was previously trained by Aidan O’Brien in Ireland but is now trained by de Kock.
