Earlier this year Sheikh Ahmed along with Sheikh Mohammed placed an order for 30 Boeing 777s during the Farnborough Air Show. The two signed the agreement with Boeing CEO and President Jim Albaugh. During the agreement, Albaugh acknowledged the value of his company’s relationship with Emirates: “Emirates has played an important role in the 777’s success with its significant support of the program and valuable feedback over the years. Today’s order serves to underscore the airline’s confidence in the airplane, which forms the mainstay of its fleet.”
Albaugh is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and an elected member of the International Academy of Astronautics. He holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics from Willamette University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Columbia University.
