Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad al-Qasimi is quite possibly the UAE’s greatest patron of education. He holds several degrees, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Geography from Durham University in the UK, a Doctor of Philosophy with Distinction in History from Exeter University in the UK, and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from Cairo University. Being the President of The American University of Sharjah since its inception, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad al-Qasimi has also taught in the capacity of a professor at several universities including Cairo University, the University of Sharjah and Exeter University.
