Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid al-Nuaimi received his early education in a Dubai school in the 1940s and 1950s. He then went to Cairo for his further education, after which he became the deputy ruler of Ajman, just as Ajman joined the UAE in 1971. Sheikh Humaid was appointed to become the crown prince in the years that followed, which saw him taking over the management of local security forces. In 1975, when his father ceased to be the ruler of Ajman, he assumed the role, appointing his son Ammar Bin Humaid as the crown prince of Ajman.
