Established in 1976, the theme of this year’s Cairo International Film Festival is Egypt in the eyes of the world cinemas. The Cairo International Film Festival is the first international film festival held in the Arab world—which is shocking seeing as Cairo is known as the “Hollywood of the Middle East.” The festival has been known to feature a number of celebrities including Susan Sarandon, Juliette Binoche, Richard Gere, Yun Jung Hee, Khalid Abdullah. The 35th Cairo International Film Festival will be held in Cairo from November 28 to December 6, 2012. Check out their website for more: http://www.cairofilmfest.org/
