Known as the French Spider Man, Alain Roberts is one of the world’s most popular building climber. He isn’t new to these parts of the world though, in 2003, he climbed the National Bank of Abu Dhabi above a crowd of 100,000 spectators, shortly after he climbed the Lloyd’s of London building as a promo for the premiere of the first Spiderman movie which he was allegedly paid $18,000 for the stunt. Since he started climbing in 1994, Roberts has climbed more than 80 skyscrapers and monuments; his conquests include the Empire State Building in New York, One Canada Square in London, Shanghai’s Jin Mao Tower, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
