The Network of Vanity Number Plates
February 6, 2012 4:28 by Eva Fernandes
You may notice that this list does feature vanity plates outside the UAE. The only reason for this variety is exactly that, Kipp’s love of variety. Indeed, if one looks at the top 10 most expensive number plates in the world, you should be surprised to see Abu Dhabi 8 times in the list. The only other country that makes it to the list is Hong Kong. And yet when one investigates further, you will find out that the number plate #18 which sold in Hong Kong for $16 million (Dh 58 million) was purchased by an Abu Dhabi resident. So much for variety.
