With the Dubai Shopping Festival beginning on January 15, there’s a ton of stuff that you can see and do in Dubai.

Freej Folklore

A theatre show which includes a blend of dance, music, animation and live stage performances and promises to take you on a mystical trip of Arabia.

English and Arabic shows are on till January 17, at the Madinat Arena Souk in Madinat Jumeirah.

Chinese Circus

The Chinese State Circus promises a 90-minute show packed with acrobatics, plate spinning, Chinese jar juggling, Lion Dance and Shaolin warriors, among others.

Daily shows (except Mondays) are on from January 15 to February 15 at 6pm and 9pm at the Festival Center.

Watani family desert camp

The camp says it offers a unique cultural experience for visitors. Some of the activities available at the camp include lessons on astrological navigation, trail finding, falconry and traditional Emirati cooking, quad biking and camel riding.

You can also spend a night in the desert in a traditional tent; prices start from AED300 per night for a tent.

The camp runs from January 15 to March 14 at the University Campus Street in Dubai, in front of the Al Warqaa area.

The Walk at JBR Activities

The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residences will host activities such as street paintings, recycled art displays, metal art, stand-up comedy shows, sand sculptures, photography displays, and kiosk selling fashion accessories and handicraft.

Concert by Tamer Hosny

The DSF is hosting several music concerts, and Arab singer Tamer Hosny is kick starting the event. The singer has also announced that he will donate his concert fee to the people affected by the conflict in Gaza.

The concert will take place on January 16 at 9 pm in Festival City.
