Volumes in DME’s Oman crude futures up 35 pct in 2010

Trading volumes on the Dubai Mercantile Exchange’s Oman crude oil futures rose 35 percent year-on-year in 2010, with traded contracts representing 2.9 million barrels of oil per day, the exchange said on Tuesday.
The exchange launched the Oman contract in 2007, with a view for it to become the marker for the 12 million barrels per day.
