30 days in one pair of underwear

A Japanese astronaut wore the same underwear for a month as part of an experiment. Science stinks.

Koichi Wakata circled the earth 2,208 times in the space shuttle Endeavor. And according to the Times, for 30 days during that space journey the Japanese astronaut wore the same underwear. But it was not just any underwear; the anti-static, flame-resistant, odor-eating, bacteria-killing, water-absorbent über-undies were part of an experiment for future space travelers.
And it looks like the experiment was a success: “I haven’t talked about this underwear to my crew members,” Wakata said during a pre-landing press briefing. “I wore it for about a month and my station crew members never complained, so I think the experiment went fine.”
Do you reckon they will start selling astro-knickers on earth anytime soon?
