Ah Darwin, you’re not so blasphemous after all

The Vatican says that Darwin’s theory is not incompatible with the Church
February 11, 2009 3:19 by Dana El Baltaji
After over a century of refuting Darwin’s theory of evolution, the Vatican has said that the theory of evolution and Christianity are compatible, reports UK daily The Telegraph.
Father Giuseppe Tanzella-Nitti, Professor of Theology at the Pontifical Santa Croce University in Rome said that the Church was hostile toward the theory, even though the idea of evolution was known to (and accepted by) St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas. The Father added that although St Augustine had “never heard the term evolution, [he] knew that big fish eat smaller fish,” and that creatures physique evolved “slowly over time.”
The statement comes a month before the 150th anniversary of Darwin’s On the Origin of Species.
It’s about time!
Someone should tell Sarah Palin about the Vatican’s statement. She’d be horrified.

Well its not the first time Vatican sided with the theory of evolution. Most prominent one came from late pope John Paul II in 1997. Well just as Vatican is in denial of many biblical truths , this is yet another one to the list.
Statements from a theo-political institution do not represent Christianity or Biblical truths; it can be ignored.
